The iPhone XS Max and iPhone 6s Plus models have been added to Apple's list of vintage phones. Here are the details...
Apple has once again brought nostalgia by adding certain devices to the vintage and old products list. With the latest update, the iPhone X S Max, released in 2018, and the iPhone 6s Plus, introduced in 2015, are now vintage products. In addition, the Apple Watch Series 2 models have been added to the old products list and removed from official support.
iPhone XS Max and iPhone 6s Plus are new members of the vintage list
First of all, if we talk about what the Vintage list is, we can say that it includes devices that Apple has removed from sale and that have been on the market for 5 to 7 years. These devices can still be repaired in some cases, but provided that the necessary spare parts are available. What is interesting is that the iPhone 6s Plus was included in this list despite being introduced 3 years before the XS Max. We can see this situation as a result of the iPhone 6s Plus being sold on the market for a longer time.
These two devices were among Apple’s flagship models when they were released. The XS Max in particular attracted attention as Apple’s largest-screened iPhone at the time, and stood out with its Super Retina OLED display, Face ID technology, and powerful processor. The iPhone 6s Plus made a big splash at the time with its 3D Touch display technology and stabilized camera system. These devices have since been replaced by newer models.
We bid farewell to Apple Watch Series 2
All models of Apple Watch Series 2 have also been added to the obsolete product list. The obsolete product category also indicates that it has been more than 7 years since a device was discontinued. Obsolete products are not among the devices that Apple provides repair and spare parts support. Therefore, if you own these smartwatches, you will no longer be able to receive official repair service from Apple.
